The Kamloops Biathlon Club is pleased to offer introductory volunteer training and coach training this spring as we expand our programs for the 2024-2025 season starting in May.

The training sessions will be held at the Kamloops Sports Council on McArthur Island at 1550 Island Parkway, Kamloops.
 The training sessions are for ages 14 and up and there is no cost for this training. These sessions are intended for parents of young athletes, as well as adult athletes and anyone interested in learning about biathlon and joining our club.

Volunteer (Biathlon Officials) Training

Are you interested in learning how the sport of biathlon works, and how to help organize and volunteer at biathlon races in Kamloops? Join us at one of our introductory volunteer sessions, where you will learn the basics of how to be a biathlon official!

The training is split into two parts. Part 1 will provide an overview of the sport of biathlon basics and its rules. Part 2 will provide practical instruction on how to organize a biathlon race and prepare the results. You can sign up for either or both parts.

Part 1 and 2: March 10 – 14:00-21:00

Part 1: March 11 – 18:00-21:00
Part 2: March 18 – 18:00-21:00

Introductory Biathlon Coaching Course 

We are seeking volunteer coaches to help with our biathlon programs starting in May 2024. We will have programs for youth ages 9 and for adults as well. The Kamloops Biathlon Club has 5 Ecoaims biathlon rifles that use infrared camera technology, which we will be using with our youth biathlon programs. Join us at one of our coach training sessions, where you will learn the basics of how to be a biathlon coach!

The training is split into two parts. Part 1 will provide training on how to operate the club’s Ecoaim rifles and instruction on basic shooting technique. Part 2 will provide practical instruction on how to help run a biathlon shooting practice with the Ecoaims rifles. You can sign up for either or both parts.
