KTSA Fun Shoots
Come join us for a friendly, social competition! Several times a year, the KTSA puts on fun shoots. No particular skill level is required – as long as you know how to safely operate a firearm, you are welcome to participate! The targets are chosen to be fun for everyone, while still providing a challenge. Shoots from October through early April are held at our Indoor Range, and May through September at our Outdoor Range, fire conditions permitting.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the match format?
A typical fun match will be 40 rounds across 4 targets. Participants will be divided into relays of no more than 6 people. Each relay will shoot their first target in turn, then rotate through to shoot their second target, etc. Once everyone has finished shooting, targets will be scored, winners announced, and door prizes drawn for.
Can firearms be shared amongst participants?
Two people can share the same firearm, just be sure to let us know so we can organize you on different relays. More than two people sharing the same gun is strongly discouraged.
Can my child participate?
Children 13 and older are welcome to shoot, if they are under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian while on the firing line.
Are ammo and firearms provided?
No, participants are expected to provide their own firearms and ammunition.
